When natures in a bad mood, your roof can suffer the effects. This winter we’re providing roof surveys for homeowners as part of the Home MOT package, to give you peace of mind of a safe home.
Many property owners make the mistake of spending time and money on internal refurbishment while neglecting the basic fabric of the building, and when a roof is insecure or leaking this can lead to long term problems such as rotten timbers or other structural damage.
Wind and storms, lack of maintenance, weathering, and design faults can all cause roof damage. Our team is experienced in dealing with and repairing these areas as well as:
- Fire damage repairs
- Full roof replacement
- Built up felt roofing
- Drain flashing problems
- Gravel stop and metal edge strip problems
- Problems with rooftop equipment, signs, braces and supports
If the storm has caused flooding, see our section on Flood Restoration
Roof repairs can be dangerous, so if the damage is fairly severe you're best advised to call in a professional Roofer. It's not a good idea to climb onto the roof surface as it may be structurally unstable after a storm. A safe way to check for possible damage is to survey the roof using binoculars or field glasses.
