Here, Yannis Nicolaidis, one of All Trades’ first franchisees, based in the North-West, tells his success story…
Choosing my franchise…
After many years working in the IT industry, I began to look for a change in career direction and wanted the freedom that self-employment brings, giving me more time to spend with my wife and daughter. I wanted to be rewarded for my efforts and make money for me, rather than working for a large corporation.
With this in mind franchising seemed like the ideal solution. At the time I also wanted to make use of my experience of project management and I spent quite a lot of time looking a different franchise opportunities. I realised that whatever I chose to do, it would be difficult to approach large national companies on my own, so when I came across All Trades Network I was immediately impressed with what they had to offer.
Four years on…
Four years later and now I lead a team of experienced tradesmen who carry out repair and restoration work on behalf of some of the country’s best known insurance companies and claims management firms. I project manage repair work on domestic properties including homes damaged by flood, fire and any other incident covered by the homeowners insurance policy.
It has been hard work! But what has helped is good organisational skills and experience of customer relations.
The Team…
These skills are what had enabled me to put together a team of quality tradesmen who can deliver a first class service. When we carry out any work on a property, we ensure repairs are carried to the highest standard and personally I find it very rewarding when the householder returns after a finished project, to see their home restored to pre-loss condition after what can be a traumatic experience. The support and training provided by Head Office over the last four years has been invaluable. They’re always available to offer sound advice, and expertise in all areas of the business. All Trades is a very forward-thinking company and I am looking forward to developing more specialist services to help the business expand.
